Your first taste of contest pacing. Ten problems at AMC 10 #1-#10 difficulty in 30 minutes. AMC scoring: 6 points for each correct answer, 0 for wrong, 1.5 for any you leave blank. So if you really don't know — leave it blank (random guessing across 5 options averages 1.2 points, less than the 1.5 you get for blank). A typical Year-8 first attempt scores 25-40 of 60. Top of the cohort: 45+. Don't worry about pace yet; finishing IS the win on attempt #1.

- +6 points for each correct answer.
- 0 points for each wrong answer.
- +1.5 points for each question left blank — so guessing randomly is usually worse than leaving it blank.
- Max possible: 60 points.
